Designed by Francesco Maffei (Frank Foilboards) on Maui, the MAKO is the result of extensive testing on countless Maliko runs, as well as many design rounds and fine-tuning.

The goal was to create the most user-friendly and high-performance Downwind SUP board on the market.

A few key details set this board apart from other options on the market:

• A revolutionary rocker line that increases board speed and effortlessly lifts off the water surface for extremely smooth starts.

• The combination of the rocker line and the edge shaping makes the board very stable. This allows the board to be narrowed, which is key to increasing transition speed.

• The sole design is designed to increase acceleration through the water for exits, while maintaining forgiveness on high-speed contact.

• The increase in speed also improves stability, as the board moves faster through the water and activates the foil, which helps with balancing.

• The extra rocker at the back of the board ensures that the tail does not catch on the water surface when foiling and also prevents the board from tracking too straight, which could cause a loss of balance.

• The flat deck provides comfort and immediate feel during long downwind runs, as well as plenty of room to move your legs according to your riding style.

• The volume is concentrated in the middle of the board, which ensures a very balanced feel when both paddling and foiling.

• At the same time, the low volume at the bow and stern reduces swing weight, making the board feel significantly shorter than its actual size.

• The full carbon fiber construction and high density foam sandwich pad underneath ensure excellent stiffness. All energy is efficiently transferred to the foil, providing maximum performance.

All Mako boards come with a custom-made boardbag that offers top-notch protection and practicality: a two-way zipper allows access from both sides, built-in ventilation keeps the board in shape, and additional pockets provide storage space.
