If you have a SUP board and want to try winging without a foil, you should also rent an additional fin that attaches to the SUP board. Without an additional fin placed in the middle of the board, the SUP board will only drift downwind. With the additional fin, you can even tack upwind like a sailboat. Tacking, of course, requires some practice.
